The funeral for Emogene M. Schnurbusch of Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph Duffner will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary rosary service at 7:30.
Schnurbusch, 68, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born May 4, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Albert and Minnie Birk Burgfeld. She and Jim Schnurbusch were married Nov. 19, 1954. He died April 3, 1998.
Schnurbusch was a 1954 graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and International Shoe Co. in Jackson, worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital from 1989 to 1998, and since 1998 was working in a Jackson R-2 School District cafeteria.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, American Legion and VFW auxiliaries, and had been chairman for Jackson Homecomers and its queen contest.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Schnurbusch of Oak Ridge, Pat Schnurbusch of Millersville; two daughters, Lisa Biri of Jackson, Sally Dacus of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Lawson Burgfeld of Jackson; six grandchildren; a stepgrandson; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
