Emogene E. McCullough, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 3, 1916, daughter of Eugene Levi and Ethel Wise Hurst. She and James R. McCullough were married at Benton, Mo., on Dec. 26, 1934. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1958...

Emogene E. McCullough, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 3, 1916, daughter of Eugene Levi and Ethel Wise Hurst.

She and James R. McCullough were married at Benton, Mo., on Dec. 26, 1934. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1958.

She had worked for 20 years before retiring as a cook for Cape Central Junior High School. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She had formerly been a longtime member of Whitewater United Methodist Church, where she was active as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher and in the United Methodist Women. McCullough was a graduate of Delta High School in Delta, Mo.

Survivors include four sons, Jim McCullough and his wife, Joyce, of Cape Girardeau, Jack McCullough of Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry McCullough and his wife, Sara, of Jackson, Mo., and the Rev. Joe McCullough and his wife, Debbie, of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Jarod, Justin, Branden, Joey, Tyler, Heather and Mikkaela McCullough; and two great-grandchildren, Jacie and Jameson McCullough.

Friends may call at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Monday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. Joe McCullough will officiate, with burial in Cape County Memorial Park.

Casket bearers will be Jeff, Jarod, Justin, Branden, Joey and Tyler McCullough. Honorary casket bearers will be Heather and Mikkaela McCullough.
