Emma Jane McDaniel, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 24, 2017, at her home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Willie and Pearl (Pearman) Lewis.
She and Edward Eugene McDaniel were married May 11, 1946. He died Feb. 29, 2004.
Emma worked for Florsheim Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau for 33 years, retiring in 1989.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Gene McDaniel, and a daughter, Dorlis Ebner, both of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Pat Harton of Granite City, Illinois, and
Shirley VanGinnip of Jackson; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Edward McDaniel; two sisters, Darlis Eaker and Kay Riley; and two brothers, Earl and John Lewis.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
