SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Emma Leona Helms of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Larry Davis will officiate, with burial in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.
Friends may call at the Chapel from 5 - 8 p.m. today.
Helms, 91, died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Sept. 24, 1905, at White Oak, daughter of Ben and Lilly Taylor. She and Amos Lee Helms were married on March 4, 1922 in Catron. He preceded her in death.
Helms was a member of the Calvary Temple in Sikeston. She was a member of the Foster Grandparents Program with the Sikeston Schools.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Helms of Portland, Oregon and Tom Helms of Charlotte, Tenn.; four daughters, Dorothy Foster of Bloomfield, Helen Fodge of Benton, Doris Brookshire of Portland, Ore., and Shirley Barnes of St. Charles; a brother, Alfred Taylor of Dexter; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
