POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Emma Jean Foust of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Bragg City, Mo. She and Dalphon W. Foust were married April 24, 1954. He died Jan. 24, 2004.
Mrs. Foust was an elementary school teacher more than 30 years, with most of her career at Fisk and Twin Rivers school districts. She was an avid gardener and reader and enjoyed teaching children to read.
She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and a member of New Home General Baptist Church the past 12 years. She formerly attended Ash Hill General Baptist Church and Landreth Chapel General Baptist Church. She was formerly active in the Women's Missionary Society.
Survivors include four sons, Alan and Dwight Foust of Jackson, Mike Foust of Evansville, Ind., Eddie Foust of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Jimmy Hayes of Malden, Mo., Shirrel Hayes of Paducah, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery.
