Emma Lee Davis, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Mississippi County, Mo., daughter of James and Mary Lola Dixon Davis. She and Leo Sawyer were married in 1945 in Blytheville, Ark. She later married Tony M. Davis in 1965 in Cook County, Ill. He died in 1972.
Davis was a foster care home provider 20 years with the Department of Mental Health through the Sikeston Regional Center. She was also a private home care provider for a number of families. She was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church in Cairo, Ill.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lee Rollins-Hill of Cape Girardeau; a brother, L.C. Davis of Chicago; three sisters, Justine Horton of Charleston, Mo., Evelyn Dean of Youngstown, Ohio, Margarie Davis of Chicago; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church in Charleston. Elder Eugene Horton will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
