SIKESTON, Mo. -- Emma A. Crouthers, 88, of Sikeston died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Sikeston, daughter of Joel C. and Nannie Ann DeVaser Gross. She and Leacil O. Crouthers were married Feb. 16, 1929. He died Jan. 10, 1980...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Emma A. Crouthers, 88, of Sikeston died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Sikeston, daughter of Joel C. and Nannie Ann DeVaser Gross. She and Leacil O. Crouthers were married Feb. 16, 1929. He died Jan. 10, 1980.

She was a member of Sikeston Community Church and was a sales clerk at JCPenney before retiring. She was a past New Madrid County 4-H Club leader and a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by a son, six brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
