SIKESTON -- Emily Lynne Twitty, 47, of San Marcos, Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1995, in the emergency room at Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos, from injuries received in a fall at her home.
She was born Dec. 17, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lynn M. and Miriam Jones Twitty.
Twitty was a 1965 graduate of Sikeston High School, attended Stephens College in Columbia, Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and received a degree in history at Texas A&M University in College Station.
She was employed at Texas A&M University. She was a volunteer and board member/administrator with Bryan-College Station Food Bank, a tutor with the Texas Literacy Organization, and worked with parents who had children with AIDS. She was a skydiver and member of the Parachute Club at SIU, having logged more than 50 jumps.
She is survived by her father.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m. today.
Private burial will be held in Sikeston City Cemetery.
