Emily M. Baron, 93, of Nanticoke, Pa., passed away Monday, July 11, 2011.
She was born Feb. 17, 1918, in Mountain Top, Pa., daughter of George and Sophie Wanta Gasper.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Baron had been employed in the local garment industry many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Nanticoke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Baron, in 1990; a son, John; brothers John, George and Thomas Gasper; and sisters Betty Evans, Mary Wanta and Dorothy Powell.
Survivors include children Betty Ann Pinko and husband Sylvester of Nanticoke, George Baron and wife Carolyn of Jackson, Janice Krzywicki and husband Richard of Mountain Top, Gerald Baron and wife Rosemarie of Nanticoke, Donna Johnson and husband Gary of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter Gasper, Robert Gasper and wife Dorothy, Donald Gasper and wife Mary, all of Mountain Top; sisters, Anna Roskowski and husband John of Orlando, Fla., Ruth Ritts and husband James of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home in Nanticoke, with the Rev. Michele D. Kaufman officiating. Interment will be in Nanticoke Cemetery.
