Emil J. "Jim" Meyer, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born June 9, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, son of Julius and Lulu Windeknecht Meyer of Cape Girardeau. He and Hildreth "Toots" Heuer were married Sept. 1, 1946. She died Dec. 22, 1989.
Meyer attended Hanover, Kage and Randol schools. He was a farmer all his life. He was a lifelong member of Hanover Lutheran Church of Cape Girardeau and a member of Hanover Dramatic Club.
He is survived by two sisters, Helen Meyer and Marie Heise of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hanover Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy will officiate. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
