EMIL J. BENO

CAIRO, Ill. -- Emil J. Beno, 96, of Cairo, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1993, at Daystar Care Center.

He was born April 24, 1897, in Cairo, son of John F. and Mary Caraher Beno.

Beno was a retired hardware salesman, and former sexton for Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include two sons, John Beno of Cairo, Joseph Beno of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Virginia Moore of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret; two sons and a daughter.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill McGhee officiating.

There is no visitation. Barkett Funeral Home of Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
