CHAFFEE -- Emeline Josephine Menz, 99, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 1995, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 11, 1896, at New Hamburg to John Urhahn and Rosa Glasser. On May 14, 1918 she married Leo Jacob Menz, who died Dec. 28, 1972.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg and belonged to St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include one son, Cletus Menz of Chaffee; two daughters, Arabella Kluesner of Benton and Marie Glueck of Chaffee; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, one son, four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
Visitation is today after 4 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. A rosary will be read today at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg with the Rev. Ralph Duffman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
