Elzie Cashon

Funeral for Elzie L. Cashon of Jefferson City, Mo., was held Monday at Dowdy Funeral Home in Haskell, Okla. Harry Fitzgerald officiated. Burial was in Haskell Memorial Cemetery.

Cashon, 93, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Westphalia Retirement Center.

He was born Feb. 8, 1909, in Wainwright, Okla., son of Alvin and Gertrude Cashon. He and Lorene Campbell were married April 1, 1933. She died March 15, 2000.

Cashon attended Haskell High School. He worked most of his adult life with Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. in Oran, Mo. He retired in 1974 and lived in Cape Girardeau until 1987.

Survivors include a son, Alvin Cashon of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Marilyn Cashon of Jefferson City; a brother, Bill Cashon of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Ludean Walters of Haskell, Irene Pate of Guthrie, Okla., Jayne Brown of Gainesville, Texas; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
