He was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Perryville, Mo., son of Everett W. and Sina Hendrix Rutherford.
Rutherford did maintenance work on rental properties. He was a member of Whitewater Christian Church in Perry County.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Rutherford of Farmington, Mo., Sherman Rutherford of Shawneetown; two sisters, Leona French of Perryville, Carol Welland of Elkhart, Ind.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Whitewater Christian Cemetery. The Rev. Alan Martin will officiate.
Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville is in charge of arrangements.
