ELVA SHAFFER

ORAN, Mo. -- Elva Gertrude Shaffer, 83, of Oran died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Beverly Health Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 13, 1917, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., daughter of George and Minnie Miller Dover. She and Wilbert H. Shaffer were married on June 5, 1947. He died Aug. 18, 1982...

ORAN, Mo. -- Elva Gertrude Shaffer, 83, of Oran died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Beverly Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 13, 1917, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., daughter of George and Minnie Miller Dover. She and Wilbert H. Shaffer were married on June 5, 1947. He died Aug. 18, 1982.

Survivors include two sons, Gary and Monty Shaffer, both of Oran; one daughter, Jackie Eftink of Burfordville, Mo.; two sisters, Goldie Schalks and Daisy Stamps, both of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery in Oran.
