JACKSON -- Elsie VanDeven, 81, of Jackson, died Saturday, April 9, 1994, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 14, 1913, near Pocahontas, daughter of Martin C. and Aymer Torrence Kieninger.
She married Herbert VanDeven, May 30, 1948. He died July 16, 1964.
VanDeven had been admitted to the Lutheran Home in June 1993.
She worked at Wagner Electric in St. Louis. In 1965, she began working for the Beltx Industrial Corp., in Antonia. She retired in 1981.
VanDeven is a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Survivors include three brothers, Clarence Kieninger of Jackson, Lawrence Kieninger of Dillsboro, Ind., Leslie Kieninger of Pocahontas; and three sisters, Eileen Kieninger of Jackson, Lavera Barlow and Elvera Cutter, both of Dillsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrich officiating.
Entombment will be Tuesday afternoon in Valhalla Mausoleum in St. Louis. The Rev. William J. Stehr will officiate.
