MOUNDS, ILL. Elsie M. Bucher, 66, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Mounds, Ill., died Saturday Feb. 1, 1992, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

She was born at Villa Ridge on Sept. 6, 1925, daughter of George Smoot and Emma Brewster Smoot.

She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Evansville.

She married George Victor Bucher Sr. He survives of Evansville.

Other survivors are one son, George Victor Bucher Jr. of Germany; one daughter, Karen McCamish of Evansville; two brothers, Floyd Smoot of Villa Ridge and George Smoot of Anna; one sister, Bertha Lingle of Anna; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. The Rev. Gerald Bethards will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mounds.

Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
