PERKS, Ill. -- Elsie Viola Long, 75, of Perks died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Metropolis, Ill.
She was born July 26, 1928, in Cypress, Ill., daughter of Perry and Jessie McCracklin Johnson. She and Roy Long were married July 27, 1945.
Long was formerly of Mounds, Ill.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Roy Long Jr. and Lewgene Long of Perks; a brother, Earl Johnson of Metropolis; two sisters, Margie Burton of Paducah, Ky., Annie Sprages of Mounds; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a grandson, two sisters, and a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, Ill., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Cromwell officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain, Ill.
