FRIEDHEIM -- Ella Elsie Kurre, 79, of Friedheim died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at her home. She was born Sept. 9, 1917, at Daisy, daughter of Henry John and Minnie Polly Crites Hobeck. FRIEDHEIM -- Ella Elsie Kurre, 79, of Friedheim died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at her home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1917, at Daisy, daughter of Henry John and Minnie Polly Crites Hobeck. She and Alonzo E. Kurre were married Nov. 19, 1936.

Kurre had worked at Stearns' Cafe, International Shoe Co., and Sewing's Restaurant. She was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church, charter member of United Methodist Women, and former Sunday School teacher. Kurre was a member of Daisy Homemakers Club, and a leader more than 30 years with Arnsberg 4-H Club.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bill Kurre of Friedheim; two daughters, June Oehl of Friedheim, Joan Ford of Anderson, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Rister officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
