BROWNWOOD -- Elsie V. Johns, 83, of Brownwood, died Monday, June 17, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 16, 1913, in Arkansas, daughter of W.T. and Alice Lamons Ford. She and Fred Johns were married Feb. 4, 1934, in Tag, Ark. He died Sept. 26, 1986...

BROWNWOOD -- Elsie V. Johns, 83, of Brownwood, died Monday, June 17, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 16, 1913, in Arkansas, daughter of W.T. and Alice Lamons Ford. She and Fred Johns were married Feb. 4, 1934, in Tag, Ark. He died Sept. 26, 1986.

Johns was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Greenbrier.

Survivors include five sons, William and James Johns of Advance, C.L. Johns of Bowling Green, Ky., Artis Johns of Affton, Lamoine Johns of Grand Park, Ill.; a daughter, Glenda Schroeter of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lee Simmons and Faye Cato of Advance; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
