Born April 6, 1924, in Wiesbaden, Germany, she came to the United States after marrying a handsome soldier, John Lee Colyer, who swept her off her feet and was immediately embraced by his large, welcoming family. Together they had two children — son, John Lee Jr., and daughter, Jeanette Christine.

After retiring from Puget Sound Bank in 1986, Elsa lived a life full of travel, laughter and love. She loved all and any of God's creatures. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to a casino and good beer.
