Shelton, 92, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 5, 1905, at Matthews, daughter of William Harrison and Mary Elizabeth Childers Shelton.

Shelton had been a self-employed beautician, and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Irene Sikes of Sikeston; and a niece she raised, Dorothy Cooley Martin of Flushing, Mich.
