Elnora E. Walker, daughter of John and Agnes Modglin Reynolds, was born in Reynoldsville on November 14, 1914 and died Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale at the age of 84.
Mrs. Walker was united in marriage to Henry W. "Bill" Walker in Jonesboro on February 17, 1934. She was preceded in death by Mr. Walker on November 17, 1951. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Martha Sue Walker; one sister, Virginia Rogers; one brother, John Robert Reynolds; one half brother, James R. Reynolds; one grandson, William Henry "Bill" Walker; two sisters-in law, Gladys Halterman and Betty Duffy; and two brothers-in-law, Dan Walker and Richard Walker.
Mrs. Walker was employed as a cook at City Care Center in Anna and was a member of the Reynoldsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Janet Walker of Marion, John and Karen Walker of Pawnee, Merle Walker of Jonesboro and Richard and Kay Walker of East Cape; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; special family friend, Marg Rendleman; stepmother, Viola Reynolds of Reynoldsville; two half brothers, Walter Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Jack Reynolds of Reynoldsville; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Parks of Tuscola, Ill., Edith W. Hay of Marion, Mabel Ussery of Anderson, In. and Hazel Walker of Anna.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 16, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hileman & Parr Funeral Services with Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 til 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 1999 at the funeral home.
