Funeral Mass for Elmer Westrich of Jacksboro, Tenn., formerly of Cape Girardeau, will be held at 8 p.m. today at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in LaFollette, Tenn. The Rev. Greg Neuzil will officiate.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Leach Cemetery in Lake City, Tenn.

Friends may call at Martin Funeral Home in LaFollette from 5-7 p.m. today, and Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m.

Westrich, 68, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, at Kelso, son of Beno and Margaret Welter Westrich. He married the former Loretta Henson.

Westrich retired as a postman in Cape Girardeau. He was assistant funeral director at Martin Funeral Home several years. He also volunteered many hours at LaFollette Medical Center.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mark and Mike Westrich of Cape Girardeau, Dan Westrich of St. Louis; three daughters, Karen Benefield of Jackson, Susan Matthews of Cape Girardeau, and Becky Talley of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Also surviving are two stepsons, Mike Mirly of Chaffee, Doug Mirly of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two brothers, A.J. Westrich of Jackson, Marvin Westrich of Benton; a sister, Martha Ziegler of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
