DEXTER -- Elmer V. Dutton, 84, of Dexter, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 15, 1911, in Mexico, Mo., son of James and Clara Gray Dutton. On July 3, 1954, in Corinth, Miss., he married Bernice Thompson.
Dutton was retired from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Department and lived in Dexter and Bloomfield for the past several years. He was a member of the Baptist Church and Bloomfield Lodge 153, AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis Dutton of Houston, David Dutton of Poplar Bluff and Ronnie Corlew of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; a daughter, Jolene Walker of Sikeston; two brothers, Marvin Dutton of Springfield and James Dutton of Fulton; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Belcher officiating. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
