SIKESTON -- Elmer Thomas Rainwater, 84, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, July 9, 1991, at his daughter's home in Cape Girardeau following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 25, 1907, at Faxon, Tenn., son of George Fulton and Laura Mae Holmes Rainwaters.

He was a farmer and a member of the Bement Baptist Church of Sikeston.

On Feb. 3, 1904, in Camden, Tenn., he married Ruth Farmer, who survives of the home.

Other survivors are one daughter, Janice Rainwater, Cape Girardeau; one brother, Ben Rainwaters, Big Sandy, Tenn.; three sisters, Vera Stockdale, Big Sandy, Marie Farmer, Dresden, Tenn., and Inez Shelley, San Jose, Calif.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Nunnelee chapel with the Rev. Gordon Adank officiating. Burial will follow at the Armer Cemetery near Bertrand.
