Elmer Smith
Elmer L. Smith, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Torch, Mo., son of Lee Roy and Myrtie Stewart Smith.
Smith had owned and operated a trucking business. He was a member of the Teamsters union.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Oliver of Millersville; two sisters, Wanda Morris and Judith Dambach of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Floyd A. Smith of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
