Elmer Emil Pott, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1904, at Cape Girardeau, son of Emil Leopold and Emma Osterloh Pott. He and Irma Michael were married Sept. 23, 1929, at St. Louis.
He worked for International Shoe Co. for 47 years. He lived in St. Louis for 44 years and moved to Cape Girardeau in 1969. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and Washington University night school in St. Louis. Before moving to St. Louis, he played in the Municipal Band.
Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; a son, James Pott of Wentzville, Mo.; a daughter, Mary Kelpe of Leesburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
There will no visitation prior to the private funeral at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
A public memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. The Revs. Barry L. Pfanstiel and William Matzat will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
