Elmer Emerson Palsgrove Jr., 93, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1917, in Birds Point, Mo., to Elmer Emerson and Teresa O'Hare Palsgrove Sr. He and Isabelle Brooks were married Feb. 24, 1940, in St. Louis. She passed away July 15, 1996.
Elmer was a brakeman 41 years with Cotton Belt Railroad, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. He attended University of Missouri in Columbia.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Farrow of Cape Girardeau, Sammy Vavroch of Sycamore, Ill.; a son, Michael Palsgrove of Crystal Lake, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from noon to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Baptist Church.
