ELMER MAURATH

SCOTT CITY -- Elmer R. Maurath, 65, of Sunset Hills died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

He was born July 29, 1932, in St. Louis, son of Elmer L. and Bernardine Gude Maurath. He married the former Evelyn Sanders of Scott City.

Maurath worked at Weber Chevrolet in Creve Coeur 43 years. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1952-54, and served in the Army Reserves from 1954-60.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, John Maurath of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Joseph and Gregory Maurath of St. Louis County; four daughters, Linda Smith, Jacqueline Rabbitt, Cheryl Maurath and Connie Hinderer, all of St. Louis County; two brothers, Eugene and Michael Maurath; two sisters, Yvonne Stilinovic and Lois Maurath; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two grandsons.

Friends may call at Hoffmeister-Colonial Mortuary in St. Louis from 3-9 p.m. today.

Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church in Sunset Hills. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
