SIKESTON -- Elmer Maurice West, 76, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994, at Sikeston Health Care Center. He was born June 26, 1918, in Lepanto, Ark., son of Joseph Anderson and Ollie Bailey West. He first married Ola Marie West April 5, 1941. She died Nov. 2, 1987. SIKESTON -- Elmer Maurice West, 76, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994, at Sikeston Health Care Center.

He was born June 26, 1918, in Lepanto, Ark., son of Joseph Anderson and Ollie Bailey West. He first married Ola Marie West April 5, 1941. She died Nov. 2, 1987. He and Hazel Hardin were married June 3, 1989, at Sikeston.

West had been a mechanic with Anderson Brothers.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Maurice West of Defiance; a daughter, Vernetta West of St. Peters; a stepson, Carl Douglas of O'Fallon; a stepdaughter, Deloris Szabo of Oxnard, Calif.; three sisters, Edith Lyons of Jonesboro, Ark., Velma Nelson of Valparaiso, Ind., Peggy Carroll of Lakeville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren, and three great-stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 3-9 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with burial in Sikeston City Cemetery.
