Elmer Heuring

KELSO, Mo. -- Elmer George Heuring, 80, of Kelso died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at his home.

He was born June 11, 1924, at Kelso, son of Lawrence and Clara Gosche Heuring. He and Alene Catherine Scherer were married Sept. 11, 1948, at New Hamburg, Mo.

Heuring was a farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, charter member of Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City, life member of VFW Post 6407 in Scott City, and member of American Legion Post 133 in Perryville, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diane Minor of Kelso, Karen Heuring of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Joe Heuring of New Hamburg; a sister, Lorena Beussink of New Hamburg; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers and a grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus service at 7:15.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Missouri Honors Program.
