PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elmer P. Heise, 90, of Perryville died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at his sister's home.
He was born April 8, 1923, at McClure, Ill., son of Paul A. and Edna Stueve Heise. He and Leona V. Verseman were married Dec. 6, 1952. She preceded him in death March 27, 1998.
Elmer was a mixer at Gilster Mary Lee, a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and Berean Bible Class, a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 133; he volunteered at the senior center in Perryville.
Survivors include a sister, Orreal Katt of Perryville; a brother and a sister-in-law, Dale and Maureen Heise of Harrodsburg, Ken.; a grandson; a grandnephew; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, Wayne.
Friends may call between 4 and 8 p.m. Tuesday and between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside service provided by the American Legion Post 133 and the Delta Team.
The family's memorial preference is the Immanuel Lutheran Church narthex project.
