He was born Feb. 28, 1914, at Chaffee, son of Turney and Mamie Horger Erwin. He and Irene B. Miller of Cape Girardeau were married in 1969.
Erwin had lived in Houston since 1970.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Sara Gleckler of Austin, Texas, and four stepchildren.
