ALTENBURG -- Elmer A. Kasten, 76, of Altenburg died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 16, 1921, at Altenburg, son of Alfred and Natalie Koenig Kasten.
He married Nora Stueve April 20, 1952. She survives.
He was an appliance dealer.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
He is survived by two sons Robert Kasten of Altenburg and Roy Kasten of St. Louis; a brother, Gordon Kasten of Altenburg; a sister, Marilyn Haertling of New Wells; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 a.m.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Charles Weber officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
