CHESTERFIELD, Mo. -- Elma Arbutus Gourley, 83, of Chesterfield died Friday, April 25, 2008, at Garden View Care Center in Chesterfield.
She was born June 15, 1924, in Supply, Ark., daughter of the Rev. Albert Jesse and Zellarean Pierce Johnson. She and the Rev. John Gourley were married Nov. 8, 1940, in Corning, Ark. He died Sept. 9, 2001.
She lived in Jackson and Cape Girardeau before moving back to St. Louis in 2003.
She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Nathanael Gourley of Bridgeton, Mo., the Rev. John Mark Gourley of Homosassa, Fla.; two brothers, Leroy Johnson of Phoenix, Jesse Dean Johnson of Lincoln, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a daughter and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Darrell E. Faire Sr. officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
