Ellis E. Haertling, 68, of Frohna, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 7, 1936, in New Wells, son of Eldor and Alma Meyr Haertling. He and Juanita Versemann were married June 17, 1961.
Haertling farmed many years. He was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at New Wells.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Carey and Dan Haertling of Frohna; a daughter, Tracy Haertling of Kirksville, Mo.; two brothers, Milton Haertling of New Wells, Willis Haertling of Jackson; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
