Ellis A. Masters, 89, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 1996, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.
He was born June 7, 1906, at Neelys Landing, son of Emmet and Eva Penny Masters. He first married Julia Miller, who preceded him in death. He and Lucy Rector were married in 1959 in Cape Girardeau.
Masters farmed in the McClure, Ill., area. He also had been a carpenter and commercial construction worker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, member and past worthy patron of Cape Rock Chapter Order of Eastern Star, and Carpenters Local 1770.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glenn Masters of Sikeston, Robert Masters of Gulf Port, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Stokes of Republic; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, grandchild and three brothers.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Griesemer officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery near Daisy.
