WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Ellen J. Verble, 85, of Wolf Lake died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 25, 1913, at Wolf Lake, daughter of Frank and Roxie Kimmel Williams. She married Ray Lee Verble, who died July 21, 1985.

Verble was a member of Wolf Lake Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Verble of Hartford, Ky., Kenneth Verble of Wolf Lake; a daughter, Carolyn Wampler of Wolf Lake; a brother, Roy Williams of St. Louis; four sisters, Velda Lencioni of Owensboro, Ky., Eula Neace of Belvidere, Mabel Spurlock of Dongola, Shirley Forbes of Murphysboro; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Prather officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
