Ellen Crutcher

Ellen H. Crutcher, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Jamestown, N.D., to Joseph and Anna Poppel Ingle. She and Claude Crutcher were married July 4, 1937, in Deadwood, S.D. He died in July 1969.

Crutcher was a member of St. Mary Cathedral. She was a licensed practical nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center more than 15 years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include two sons, David Crutcher of St. Louis, Mike Crutcher of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at St. Mary Cathedral.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at City Cemetery in Essex, Mo.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
