Ellamae Ellen Beklund Menz, 94, of Delta passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 in her home. She was born in Randles, Missouri, Jan. 22, 1927, to Essie Hendrickson and Jesse Richard Beklund. She attended school in Randles. Ellamae Ellen Beklund Menz, 94, of Delta passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 in her home.

She was born in Randles, Missouri, Jan. 22, 1927, to Essie Hendrickson and Jesse Richard Beklund. She attended school in Randles.

Ellamae married Tony Kirby Menz on Sept. 2, 1941, and from that union they had eight children.

She was owner and operator of the Delta Tavern in Delta for 60-plus years, while also working as a homemaker, raising a mess of kids and grandkids. She enjoyed reading, embroidering quilt blocks and sewing, and rarely passed up a chance to go to a flea market, antique store or yard sale. Additional interests were history and traveling to new sites. She loved her flower garden and the St Louis Cardinals, passing both passions on to her children. Ellamae was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delta.

Ellamae is survived by five children, Brenda (Ernest) Brown of Jackson; Ronnie Menz of Perkins, Missouri; Donna (Dale) Hobeck of Delta; Mary Jo (Cliff) Barlow of Scappoose, Oregon; and Penny (Jack) Coomer of Delta; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Menz and Geraldine Lancaster; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; three daughters, Carol Collins, Evelyn (Mike) Waddle and Peggy (Bill) Coomer; a great-granddaughter and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Arbor.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Delta.
