ELLA M. KAUFMANN

ALTENBURG -- Ella M. Kaufmann, 83, of Altenburg, died Thursday, May 16, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 9, 1907, at Farrar, daughter of Richard and Anna Cordes Fritsche. She married George F. Kaufmann April 26, 1931. He died June 26, 1982.

Kaufmann was a professional quiltmaker, and had sold quilts to customers in every state. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Curtis Kaufmann of Altenburg; a daughter, Betty Schroeder of Lake St. Louis; two sisters, Wilma Prange of St. Louis, Anita Cornehlson of Farrar; a brother, Runold Fritsche of St. Louis, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Fremont; a daughter, Eleanor Petzoldt; five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Willard Kassulke will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg after 5 p.m. Saturday, and until noon Sunday.
