JACKSON -- Funeral service for Ella Grant of Jackson will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Grant, 94, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 28, 1903, at Gordonville, daughter of Albert and Ida Kerstner Grossheider. She and George B. Grant were married Jan. 31, 1925, at Jackson. He died June 18, 1980.
Grant worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson, retiring in 1965. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Grant had resided at the Lutheran Home seven years.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Grant of Columbia, Joe Grant of Jackson; a daughter, Aletha Brown of Jackson; three sisters, Clara Kiehne of Cape Girardeau, Albertine Scherrer of St. Louis, Vanita Bilotta of Winter Park, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, four brothers and a sister.
