Ella E. Niswonger, 82, 326 Edgewood, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Feb. 13, 1909, at Kurreville, daughter of George W. and Amanda Byran Welker. She married Pink Niswonger June 18, 1927. He died Aug. 13, 1974.
Niswonger moved to Cape in 1931 from Jackson. She worked at Superior Electric 25 years, retiring in 1971. She had been a member of Red Star Baptist Church since 1931, was active in the Sunday School Department, and member of Navy Mothers.
Survivors include three sons, Gary N. Niswonger of Jackson, Larry D. Niswonger of Cape Girardeau, Melvin D. Niswonger of Perryville; two daughters, Belle Litzelfelner of Jackson, Faye Schreiner of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Lee Welker of Alton, Ill.; two sisters, Jean Schreiner of Jackson, Ollie Hager of Taylorville, Ill.; a half sister, Clara Giaghianpen of Perryville; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
