ST. LOUIS -- Ella Dee Wampler Corbin, 85, of St. Louis, formerly of Whitewater, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Cedar Hill Manor in Cedar Hill, Mo. She was born April 27, 1919, at Crump, to the late Omer Otis and Ora Virgil Crump Wampler. She was married to the late Kenneth E. Corbin on Jan. 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1989...

ST. LOUIS -- Ella Dee Wampler Corbin, 85, of St. Louis, formerly of Whitewater, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Cedar Hill Manor in Cedar Hill, Mo.

She was born April 27, 1919, at Crump, to the late Omer Otis and Ora Virgil Crump Wampler.

She was married to the late Kenneth E. Corbin on Jan. 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1989.

She was the former owner/ operator of Dee-Dee's Shoes in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Corbin Barrett of St. Louis; five sisters, Edna Sitzes, Evelyn Vancil, Janice McClard, Janene Givens, Gloria Proffer; three brothers, Norvel Wampler, J.E. Wampler, Wayne Wampler; two grandchildren, Cindy Helton and Candace Barrett.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Proffer.

Arrangements are being handled by Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mount Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau. A private, family graveside service will be held at Cape County Memorial Park.
