Elizabeth J. "Nana" Stubbs, daughter of John and Bertha Lauck Halter, was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Chaffee and departed her life Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 87 years.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church her entire life and the Daughters of St. Ambrose.
On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lynn F. Stubbs. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Stubbs of Broussard, Louisiana, and Russell Stubbs of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; three daughters, Katherine Vandercook and Mary Foeste, both of Chaffee, and Nancy Stubbs of Benton; one sister, Anna Mae Smith of Ringgold, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Albert and William Halter, and three sisters, Cecelia Walton, Dorothy Dees and Lorene Halter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Eucharistic celebration will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
