Elizabeth "Bess" Shale, 78, of Macon, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1992, at Loch Haven Nursing Home there.
She was born Feb. 23, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Bernard and Freda Helmkampf Gockel. She married Charles Reed "Brick" Shale, who died in 1973.
Shale was an elementary teacher in Cape Girardeau before moving to Macon, and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church there.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Rusby Seabaugh of Kalispell, Mont.; a daughter, Saundra Curry of Anapolis, Md.; two stepdaughters, Susan Dragich of Glen Carbon, Ill., Joan McComas of Broken Arrow, Okla., and a brother, Capt. B. Norman Gockel of Novato, Calif.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carney Funeral Chapel in Macon. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery at Clarence.
