MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Elizabeth A. Richey, 88, of Mound City and formerly of Mounds, Ill., died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Ill.
She was born April 5, 1912, In Ullin, Ill., the daughter of George and Elizabeth Hatcher Hartwell.
She married Clyde Richey in 1966. He preceded her in death.
She was a licensed practical nurse for many years at St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo, Ill. She was a member of the Smiles Senior Citizens Center in Mounds and of the First Methodist Church in Mounds.
She is survived by a daughter, Beth Byassee of Metropolis; a son, Robert Richey of Merritt Island, Fla.; two sisters, Agnes Sullivan of Lancaster, Va., and Sara Jane Calkins of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, George Hartwell of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and DeWitt Hartwell of Charlottesville, Va.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds.
