CAIRO, Ill. -- Elizabeth L. Lindsey, 81, of Cairo died Thursday, Aug. 7, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Feb. 25, 1916, in LaCenter, Ky., daughter of John Thomas and Eddie Holland Lewis. She married Ogle Lindsey, who died in 1986.
Lindsey had worked at Emmerson School more than 25 years, retiring as kitchen supervisor. She was a former precinct committeewoman with Alexander County Republicans.
She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Paducah, Ky., and member of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Eatmon of Cairo; a son, Allen Moss of Cairo; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kelly Cox, Bill Gholson and Doug Sykes officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
