PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elizabeth "Betty" L. Klump, 81, of Perryville passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at her home.
She was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Perryville to John M. and Mary Lena Schemel Blechle.
She and Leo Klump were married May 14, 1960, at the Assumption Shrine. He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 2012.
Betty was a registered nurse, graduating from the De Paul School of Nursing.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent Ladies Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 1263 Auxiliary and St. Vincent Alumni Association and was instrumental with starting the St. Vincent Educational Foundation. Betty was a passionate supporter of the St. Vincent school systems.
She was co-owner of Pete & Leo's Sales and Service.
Betty loved reading, knitting and being with her family. Betty was a loving wife and devoted mother, always opening her home and heart to others.
Survivors include four daughters, Terri (Jim) Peck of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Renee (Glen) Brueckner, Sue (Darren) Verseman and Sara (Jim) Hennemann, all of Perryville; six sons, John (Dianne) Klump of Perryville; Jamie (Angie) Klump of Owensboro, Kentucky; Jeff (Michele) Klump of Friendswood, Texas; Joe Klump of Perryville; Steve (Andrea) Klump of Overland Park, Kansas; and Matt (Amy) Klump of Farmington, Missouri; sister, Margie (Wayne) Martin of Perryville; and 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leo Klump.
The family requests that masks be worn at all services and to please practice social distancing.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the funeral Mass at 11. Officiating will be the Rev. Joe Geders, C.M.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent School Endowment or St. Vincent Educational Foundation.
